The Wolftrap

A funky little blended red wine from the renown Boekenhoutskloof (say that after a few wines) Winery in the very beautiful town of Franschhoek. Apparently a wolftrap was found in the area when the farm was being developed and while there are no wolves in the area now there is still plenty of indigenous animals found in the mountains. This includes leopards and baboons, which must be quite terrifying for vineyard workers.

Syrah, Mourvedre and Viognier come together beautifully in a blend. Syrah and Viognier make up most of the blend and are used to lift the aromatics while Mourvedre provides the smokey, meaty and bold flavours. If you know South Africans you will know that they love to have a braai (BBQ) This wine is tailor-made for such an event. Drink it with mates and create your own legends.
