Sella & Mosca “Monteoro” Vermentino di Gallura
Sella & Mosca cultivates its grapes on the slopes of the south side of Mount Limbara, whose soils are characterized by broken-down granitic rubble and a hot climate, but with excellent temperature variations during the summer. The Sardinian winery actually has Piedmontese origins. In fact, engineer Sella and lawyer Mosca were born in Sabaudia and it is to them that we owe the merit of having started the reclamation works and the planting of the first vineyards of the company. Today Sella Mosca can count on more than 540 hectares of vineyards and is now part of the galaxy of companies belonging to the Terra Moretti Group.
Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG), is the highest quality level wines with a designation of origin, but DOCG wines have an additional “garantita,” or guarantee, by the Italian government to be wines of especially high quality. Each DOCG-labeled wine must pass a wine quality tasting panel. They think this is really special and so do we. It has a bright straw colour with dried-lemon to taste, cooked-apple aromas and white pepper too. Full-bodied, intense and very long on the palate.
