Rocca delle Macie Chianti Classico
The four estates that make up Rocca delle Macie are all centred in the Castellina area of Tuscany. This Chianti Classico wine is made up of 95% Sangiovese grapes mixed with a small proportion of Merlot. As per the laws of the region, Sangiovese is the dominant variety planted in those 4 estates. The Zingarelli family bought these properties in 1973 and have developed and expanded the estate over time. This is a true Tuscan estate – think long lunches in the sun, olive groves and of course vineyards. The wine is also very Italian, rustic and savoury with fresh acidity and obvious tannins that will reward time and food.
