Prunotto “Fiulot” Barbera d’Asti DOCG
The Barbera grape is well known for its approachable, fruity, perfumed characteristics. It’s also most famous for coming from Italy’s northwestern Piemonte region–a hilly, misty, magical area that’s also famous for things like truffles (white and black), hazelnuts, and homemade egg pasta. So when we say that a wine like Barbera d’Asti is incredibly food friendly, it starts to make a bit of sense. You can’t have amazing regional food without appropriate wines to match.
The name “Fiulot” in the local dialect in Piemonte means “young man.” The name is aptly given to this youthful, vibrant drop–a fresh, delcious and easy expression. You’ll probably want more than one bottle handy.
