Plan De Dieu, Domaines des Pasquiers

A powerful and very traditional village level Cotes du Rhones red blend comprising of: 60%Grenache, 30%Syrah, 10%Mourvèdre.

Four generations of winegrowers have succeeded on this estate since 1935. Current stewards the Lambert brothers: Jean-Claude and Philippe and their children, Matthieu and Perrine, took over the Domaine Des Pasquiers in 1998. Situated at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the vineyards spread across Plan de Dieu, terraces of red clay recovered by pebble stones which retain the sun’s heat at night and keep coolness during day. Then the gentle slopes of Sablet where then the grapes are growing on a sandy soil along with gravel bringing finesse and mineral qualities to the wine.

The fruit is from 30 year old vines, organical farmed and has a particularly low yield. Offering up rich and concentrated juices for this stunning Cotes du Rhones Village blend. Villages classification is the category where 20 villages attach their names on the label. It’s a process that includes critical tastings and it applies to all wines in the village once producers make the grade. This classification includes 95 villages with in the region and are more complex wines with low yeidling soils.

A very aromatic red wine with aromas of stewed cherries ,hints of thyme. Such very good value in this bottle for your hard earned money.
