Neck of the Woods – Orange Pinot Gris
Not all orange wines are the same. But when they’re made well, they’re just delicious. Think of orange wine this way: a wine made from white grapes, but using the same method you’d use to make a red wine skin maceration and fermentation. That’s where all the colour, texture, aroma and character comes from. This gateway orange Pinot Gris comes from winemaker Jenn Parr (also happens to be the winemaker for Valli) and her prowess shines here.
Who’s on the label? Julie d’Aubigny – a bisxeual Nun, lethal swordfighter and a powerful Opera Soprano. Her life and passing might best be defined in the words of one of her many biographers “destroyed by an inclination to do evil in the sight of her God and a fixed intention not to”.
