Leheny Gibson Chardonnay
Lorraine and Warren first met at winemaking school in Oz (Lorraine’s roots are in Victoria), and if you know their other work in Hawke’s Bay, you’ll know that they both share a passion for Chardonnay. So it’s really not surprising that they would also make a stunning Chardy from the cool-climes of the Upper Yarra. This wine is a collaborative effort between Lorraine, Warren and friends back across the ditch who grow Chardonnay fruit worthy of their attention and effort. Keep this in the cellar for 10 years if you can be bothered, or drink it tonight with a pan seared flounder with seaweed-butter sauce and capers. Too fancy? She’ll be ‘right with Sunday fish n’ chips on the beach (with a good squeeze of lemon)!
