Kumeu River Cremant NV

Unquestionably one of New Zealand's top producers of Chardonnay Kumeau River also produces sparkling wine. The quality of Michaels Brajkovich's winemaking is never in doubt and anything that comes out of this winery in West Auckland is worth exploring.

Kumeu River is truly a family affair, with four siblings currently running the company under the guidance of their mother Melba. This is such a well-known winery both domestically and internationally and they are widely recognised for the quality of wine that they produce. Cremant is a term for sparkling wines made in the same way as traditional Champagne but can’t be called Champagne as the term is protected by law. The wine is 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. It was bottled in February 2016 and disgorged in December 2019. It is fresh, crisp and racy with a delicious fine bubble profile.
