Hopesgrove White Pinot Noir
The name Hopes Grove comes from the history of the place. The people who were here before, the Hopes, were olive farmers. They were the first commercial growers in the area, and planted the grove on the north facing slopes in the early 80s. The current vigneron Pieter Koopman kept the oldest grove that the Hopes planted, establishing a vineyard around it.
North-facing slopes expose the vines to abundant sunlight, while relatively dense plantings help keep yields naturally on the lower side. The surrounding hills act as a sheild, providing some protection from the seasonal storms that can sweep through the Hawkes Bay. That equatiuon equals their own ‘micro-climate’ and soils that suit Pinot Noir.
Flavours here are fresh with notes of nashi pear, peach and citrus blossom. A lower alochol white wine that suits seafood and light lunch options.
