Franck Bonville Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs NV

Champagne is dominated by so many great prestige labels and it is easy to forget about many of the other smaller producers with smaller marketing budgets. This is a real shame as this is an area with amazing complexity and making an effort to try something different can be very rewarding.

Since 1900 four generations of Bonville winegrowers have been growing grapes and making wine in the heart of the Cote des Blancs (the white hillsides) around the town of Avize, Ogier and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. These are limestone-rich, Grand Cru vineyards highly sought after for the quality of their Chardonnay grapes. The wines are aged for a minimum of 2.5 years in bottle. The wine is fresh with great finesse and the complexity and elegance that comes from quality Chardonnay. It just brings incredible enjoyment.
