Domaine Thomson “Explorer” Pinot Noir

The story of Domaine Thomson spans both hemispheres and two premium Pinot Noir growing regions, Central Otago and Burgundy. The Hall-Jones family have vineyards in both regions and are committed to producing wines to fall in love with. Added to this is a family history that provides a compelling story behind the wine.

David Hall-Jones’s great-great-grandfather, John Turnball Thomson, was known in the Central Otago region as Surveyor Thomson. He was responsible for mapping the region in the 1850s and many of the landmarks were named by him. Now the estate that is named after him is a single vineyard specialist of Pinot Noir. Farmed biodynamically the wine is quintessentially Central Otago Pinot with bright flavours mixed with savoury elements.
