Domaine Maire & Fils Grand Mineral Chardonnay
Domaine Maire & Fils is nestled in the picturesque Jura countryside, located between Burgundy and the Swiss boarder.
The river Saone and a common history connects the lands of Jura and Burgundy. Before the Jurassic age this vast region was bathed by the ocean for more than 200 million years. Today the soils contains the same marine sediments that enrich the same marls, clays and limestones. Growing vines goes back more than 5,000 years, while the first writings attesting to the existence of a vineyard dates back to 312. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay originate from Burgundy, but for centuries have found a happy home in the Côtes du Jura. These wines have an expression of freshness due to these special soils and altitude.
The Grand Mineral Chardonnay is an un oaked sensory delight. Each sip reveals layers of complexity, with flavors of ripe pineapple, juicy pear, and a hint of vanilla. The wine is beautifully balanced, with a vibrant acidity. Definately one to try for all you Chardonnay devotees.
