Domaine de Noiré – Chinon Elégance

Chinon in the Loire Valley is one of our favourite places for Cabernet Franc. Hand picked fruit from 30 to 50 year old vines is fermented and aged in stainless steel to maintain purity of fruit. Velvety and smokey to taste, with a foody chew to it.

The current owners: Odile and Jean-Max Manceau bought Domaine de Noiré in 2001, since then they have devoted themselves to returning the vineyard to its former glory. A decade on they started the conversion of all 40 hectares to Biodaynamics and received their certification in 2014.
The philosophy of the domain is to offer quality wines that accurately reflect the landscape in which they have been nurtured. As a result, all the vintages possess delicacy, elegance and character. They are also now reconised as one of the few classified 1ère Côtes de Chinon estates.

Very ripe red fruits dominate in this highly aromatic wine. Sliky smooth with pleasant tannins to ensure a good long finish. This Chinon can be drunk young, but has the potential to age 5-8 years.
