Decibel Giunta Albarino
We love this crazy little grape, Albarino. It just tastes of fun and is a variety to be watched here in NZ. It originates in the wetter parts of Iberia where it has developed an ability to cope in wet conditions so wet autumns don’t have any effect.
Giunta is the last name of Winemaker Dan Brennan’s Sicilian grandparents and it means “a good addition” which we think is very appropriate for this lively drop.
While totally dry it has a textural component adding a roundness to the palate and accentuating the sweet fruit characters. Works wonderfully well with all seafoods both raw and cooked.
