Clos Henri Waimaunga Sauvignon Blanc
Clos Henri in Marlborough is owned and run by the famous Sancerre wine growing family of Henri Bourgeois. The family uses the best of French and New World winegrowing techniques to capture the essence of Marlborough’s intense character and reveal the true character of the Clos Henri site. 10 generations of the family have been involved in Sancerre and they are now one of the most respected in the region. They are also true believers in the potential of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
This wine is named after the ancient glaciation period “Waimaunga”, that formed the bedrock of the clay soils that define this single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. Following the French tradition of high density plantings to increase competition amoungst the vines and restains the vigour – resulting in concentrated berries.
