Champagne Florence Dûchene Brut Réserve
This small specialist Maison is family owned and managed by Florence Duchene and her husband Vincent. Florence herself, half Filipino and half French, was born into a family deeply rooted in the
Champagne region, since 1874. After international travel, studies in foreign languages and viti-qualifications, it is Florence herself, who having returned to the family business in 2011, now tends the vines and makes the wines.
At Florence Duchene, they keep a relatively small amount of the premium fruit for their own wine and sell the balance to other houses. The House is known for its low dosage regime at up to but not exceeding6g/L and for ageing its wines en tirage for a minimum of five years before release.
Fine and festive bubbles. Refined effervescence with apple, toasted nut and truffle nose. Crisp and fresh with a lovely delicate mousse texture with kirsch and prune to taste. An oustanding Champagne from a recent award winning small producer. Don’t let this one get past you and match it with your choice of seafood, raw or cooked!
