Calrossie “Grand Reserve” Pinot Noir

This is an absolute hidden gem from a hillside single vineyard site in Marlborough. Tiny production and exquisite attention to detail not to mention low intervention wine making practices result in an elegant expression of Pinot. If you are a lover of this variety in general you won't want to pass this wine up.

This is a bit of a special treat a Pinot Noir from what many consider one of New Zealand’s great vineyard sites! If you remember the old-school Pyramid Valley wines, you might remember that they made a Pinot from this very special vineyard. Planted in 2003 (that’s “old vine” for NZ standards), the Calrossie vineyard is on a hillside site in Marlborough’s lower Awatere Valley. This Pinot has aged just beautifully and will continue to for a few more years, if you end up wanting to stash some away! And if you’ve never had a chance to see what a bit of age can do for a Pinot Noir, this is the right way to discover the magic of maturing. We recommend having more than one bottle at the ready.
