Astrolabe Rose

Winemaker Simon Waghorn is aiming for a stylish, fresh and dry style and we think he has nailed it. Chill it down and enjoy it as an aperitif or with some prosciutto.

From those talented folk at Astrolabe, one of Marlborough’s more quality focused producers. This wine is actually a blend of Pinot Noir 55% and Pinot Gris 45%. The the fruit is sourced from vineyards in the Awatere Valley and from the lower Dashwood and the remainder from KÄ“kerengÅ«.

We love how the wine looks (mininal skin contact), we like the colour of this wine and we also like how dry it tastes. There is no confectionary in this wine, this makes it versitalie with most food stylings.

Great aperitif wine, but as its dry great with salty foods. Fish and chips come to mind...
