144 Islands “Marnie Manon” Marsanne/Roussanne Blend

Hold on to your hats, friends. Yes, there is delicious wine coming out of New Zealand's Bay of Islands region. With their maritime, volcanic terroir, it makes sense. If you haven't already tried the wines of 144 Islands, then don't sit around; this particular white blend is one of our favourites from the offerings produced by this small, but visionary up-and-coming winery. Fashioned after the great whites of France's northern Rhône, this is a blend of mostly Marsanne and Roussanne, and there's also some Vermentino, Viognier and Muscat ā petit grains for good measure.

The story of 144 islands wines is a story that in many ways reflects the ingenuity and pioneering spirit of us Kiwis. Even in an area of New Zealand never known for wine production, winemaker Jake Drungool could see potential in the land he and his family owned in the Kerikeri hills. With winemaking and viticultural experience already unde his belt, a solid vision, and the willingness to experiment and learn, he has slowly built 144 Islands, along with his family, into something truly special.

With their signature style being white blends, this is the perfect wine to enjoy as a way to introduce yourself to the 144 Islands collection. Named for their first daughter, the “Marnie Manon” white blend is pretty, expressive and lushly fruity, but delciously refreshing and bright at the same time. Honestly, this is one of those wines where you’ll just have to taste to believe.
