Terre Sarde “Passo Sardo” Cannonau

What the hell is Cannonau you may say! Actually, it's a local name for the juicy, powerful and fruity Grenache variety. Spicy and savoury, lush and rustic. Perfect for foods off the grill.

Italy has over 350 recognised grape varieties and Cannonau is one of the local varieties grown on the island of Sardinia. Passo Sarde is a range of wines dedicated to making wines from the indigenous grapes of the island. Established in 1991 by Guiseppe Can, a firm believer in highlighting the natural attributes of grapes grown in these unique conditions. The combination of hills, plains, and coastal sites all contribute to making this an island of great potential for grape growing. The wine is rich, without being overpowering with soft tannin and great approachability.
