Taberno Vittoria Reserva Malbec

The first wine we have found from Peru and it’s a cracker! 100% Malbec just like the wines of its neighboring Argentina. It certainly packs a pleasing punch.

The Ica Valley’s winemaking history actually dates back to the arrival of Spanish settlers in the 16th Century. The Ica Valley is located in the southern part of the country which benefits from a desert climate with hot days and cool nights, ideal for grape growing. The temperature variations allow the grapes to ripen fully during the day while retaining acidity and freshness from the cooler nights. Taberno has been an important producer in this area since 1897 making table wines as well as the more well known Piscos of the area.

This is a great wine to be enjoyed with your steak off the grill. A fascinating wine!
