Quinta de Pluma Vinho Verde

Vinho Verde is not a grape variety but is a wine made primarily from indigenous Portuguese grape varieties, often including Alvarinho, Loureiro, and Arinto. The Vinho Verde region is found in the extreme north of Portugal and it faces the full fury of the Atlantic ocean.

Vinho Verde, meaning “green wine,” refers to the wine’s youthful character rather than its color, and it is known for its vibrant acidity, crispness, and lower alcohol content. Often it will have a little bit of fizziness. Don’t be scared of that. It should be expected to have a tingle on your tongue. The wine typically has a pale, almost translucent color and is known for its fresh and aromatic profile.

Love this low alchol style of wine with oysters. Absolutely perfect.
