Millton “Te Arai Vineyard” Chenin Blanc

I love the wines from Millton in Gisborne because they display a real sense of authenticity. These are not wines that try to show off, rather they are true to their place and region. The Chenin Blanc is definitely one of my favourites as its uniqueness stands out in the crowd.

James and Annie Millton are true pioneers of the Gisborne region having established their vineyards in 1984. They have three vineyards, Opou, Te Arai and Clos de Ste Anne and they believe that the wines they produce give an expression of the natural flavours found in the grapes harvested from those vineyards. As one of New Zealand’s earliest Biodynamic producers they think that they are not standing on dirt, but the rooftop of another kingdom. Over the years the Chenin Blanc from Millton has proven itself and is one of the best in the country. A seasonal challenge and a bottled fantasy. This is a delicious wine, dry and perfectly balanced with captivating flavours.
