Guigal Crozes-Hermitage Rouge

Dark and deep colour. Cherry and strawberry with delicate oak aromas. A structured tannic wine. Aromas of blackcurrant and vanilla. Remarkable freshness with notable and refined tannins to due long oak ageing (two years in small French oak barrels). If you don't know Etienne Guigal as a fine Rhône producer, this is should be an introduction to your cellar for sure.

The Guigal domain was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis; a small, ancient village at the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. It is overlooked by unique vineyards where vines and the wines have been celebrated for over 2,400 years. With history like this you just know the quality in the bottle will follow.

Croze Hermitage is the largest appellation in the Northern Rhone, 100% Syrah and the wines typically offer excellent value for money. These wines usually have great complexity and command you to select good qulaity red meat from your butcher. Well worth investing in case to ensure you have some left to age in the cellar.
