Garofano Negroamaro Elequenzia

A “classic” old-school Negroamaro from Italy's south. Evocative of Amaro, light in weight, tasty, moreish, tart, completely dry, characterful and fun wine.

The Garofino winery is established in the coolly named town of Copertino in the heart of Salento, Apulia which is also often called the heel of Italy’s boot. As such the area is sandwiched between two seas. The climate is warm and dry which results in wines that are rich and fruity. Negroamaro is the indigenous red grape produced in this region.

When we research and taste our wines for selection we often come across comments or stories that strike a real cord with us. The following to escribe this wine is one example – “Often the truth about a wine is ungraspable, untranslatable, and one must recognize the inefficacity of words. In such cases wine simply becomes an enjoyable drink, having no need of words, boasting its own power of communication, of moving the taster by its innate eloquence.”
