Argiano Rosso di Montalcino DOC
The history of Argiano and the construction of the magnificent villa dates back to the late 16th century when the estate began producing its first wines.
The villa was first owned by the noble Pecci family of Sienna, who named the estate ‘Bell’Aria’ because of the clean hillside air quality. The land and villa changed ownership over the centuries between various noble families but only flourished as a winery after it came into the possession of Lady Ersilia Caetani Lovatlli in the 19th Century.
Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano, who introduced many innovations to wine-making and, along with world-famous oenologist, created Solengo, the great Supertuscan of Montalcino.
Now, the villa lies in the hands of winemaker Bernadino Sani, who took over the ownership in 2013 and has since increased land holdings from 50 to 60 hectares. Argiano is the first company in Montalcino to be plastic-free and has done so since 2019. The winery practises organic and sustainable agricultural methods and strives to balance biodiversity through various natural techniques.
Lively ruby red, with aromas of cherry, red berry fruit and great saltiness wrapped in notes of Mediterranean scrub.
